you and your customers have the same goal.

A friend of mine recently asked me to help him pick out window treatments during a sales consultation at his new home.  I arrived during the appointed window, but the blinds salesman wasn’t there. He had called to ask my friend if he could detour to another appointment first that was closer to his starting point.  My friend and I chatted, and waited, and 4 hours later there was still no sign of the blinds salesman.

When I was in travel school, one of our instructors used to tell us: When someone walks into a travel agency, they already know they want to go on vacation.  All they’re trying to decide is whether or not they’re going to book their vacation with you.

Whatever your business is, everyone who comes to your website or checks you out on social media is doing so because they need what you’re selling. Their goal is the same as yours: They want to exchange money for the goods/services you provide, as easily as possible. It’s that simple.

Simple, but maybe not obvious. My friend still needs blinds.  He’s going to buy them from someone, eventually.  He just won’t buy them from the person who showed up 5 hours late.
